We will introduce the Globus Platform-as-a-Service and describe how it may be used to deliver unique data management capabilities in your own applications. This will include an overview of common use cases such as data publication/distribution, orchestration of data flows, etc., a description of the platform architecture, and a brief overview of available platform services. We will demonstrate the Globus Transfer API using a Jupyter notebook that attendees can use as a starting point for further experimentation.

The Globus service continues to evolve the web browser and REST interfaces for managing research data through its lifecycle. Over the past 18 months, Globus has added new data publication and discovery functionality, along with improvements to data transfer and sharing. We also introduced new identity and access management functionality that simplifies access to Globus using campus logins, and facilitates integration of Globus, XSEDE, and other research services into web and mobile applications.
Today we are happy to celebrate the 1-year birthday of Globus Auth, our authentication and authorization platform.
In the year since its launch, Globus Auth has supported over 52,000 users, including nearly 18,000 new users in the past year, using one of 300 identity providers (with over 1,800 more coming soon). Counting all linked identities the number rises to over 64,000 identities.

The Operating Innovative Networks (OIN) workshop series is designed to equip university and laboratory network engineers with the knowledge and training needed to build next-gen campus networks that are optimized for data-intensive science. We collaborate closely with ESnet, Indiana University, Internet 2, and other workshop organizers to educate research computing and netwrok professionals on running and optimizing Globus in the Science DMZ.
Vas will present a tutorial that includes the following topics:
Globus is a sponsor of Bio-IT World; you can find our exhibit at Booth 351. We'll also be presenting updates on our work with Globus Genomics as well as Globus for managing large datasets in life sciences.
